MetroDenver EDC
Attracting the Very Best Corporations to Denver
The Challenge
The MetroDenver Economic Development Corporation (EDC) wanted to redesign their Award Winning Web site in order to attract the very best companies to the Denver metro area. The new site had to display a compelling design and promote overall usability while continuing to push the envelope in data driven EDC Web sites.
EDCs are routinely evaluated by site selectors in order to identify a region for a corporate headquarters or new satellite office location. Thus it was critical to find a balance on the new Web site between offering data and showcasing what MetroDenver has to offer.

The Solution
Since the new MetroDenver EDC site needs continuously attract new companies and accurately showcase Colorado, design needed to be both scalable and dynamic enough to change on a weekly basis with minimal effort. Imulus Central v2 provided the back-end framework and support for a new application we call the “DataCart.” The DataCart functions much like a shopping cart with the exception that it is used solely for files such as Word documents, Excel files and PDFs. Not only does this make it easy for site selectors to gather the information they need, it also provides a way for MetroDenver EDC to generate leads and track which items are of the greatest interest to site selectors interested in making Colorado home.
The Results
The new Web site launched in December of 2007 and while we are still working out the exact figures, the new Web site certainly has lived up to it's expectations.
