Selling Toughbooks Just Got Easier
The Challenge
Portable Computer Systems is an authorized reseller of Panasonic Toughbooks; therefore any referral traffic from Panasonic must go to a strict, Panasonic only online ordering system. Therefore, Imulus was faced with the challenge to develop a product specific ecommerce Microsite to accommodate Panasonic sales and redesign the corporate Web site for a wider audience of users interested in both products and services.

The Solution
Due to specific timeline restraints Imulus was tasked with developing the Microsite before redesigning the corporate Web site. The Panasonic Toughbook Web site was built to attract and convert users as quickly as possible while still featuring the ability to customize orders online. The corporate Web site was redesigned to promote PCSs’ higher margin services while also giving users the ability to order products directly.
The Results
Since the redesign of both sites, PCS is setting records each quarter in online sales. The Web sites have gone from a minor source of revenue generation to a real contributor to company profits. The new Web sites are being used as a building block for new services and applications, including a customer facing extranet pricing portal and an integrated marketing system.
